Fremont Fairytale Farm Wedding - Daniel & Doris
What a day. Daniel & Doris are such a gracious and loving couple. I felt so blessed by them and really amazed at how they showed care for their community. If there is one word I can use to describe their wedding it is--joy. It was clear how loved they were by those who came to celebrate with them.
It wasn't exactly love at first sight though. Doris hilariously recounted the first impression she had of Daniel when they first met. He had sunglasses on and didn’t smile, so she didn't even think twice and forgot his name after the first meeting. Eventually, they ended up in the same major after they both switched and began to “study” together. Through the process of being together, they said that they have “learned to walk with each other towards Christ.”
Eventually, Daniel proposed to Doris. As the “romantic one” he took her to a “hole in the wall breakfast spot in SF,” as they love trying new foods, then to Lands End, Doris’ favorite spot in SF. They ended up at Daniel’s place where Doris was surprised by friends who had come to celebrate the engagement! Doris described it as being “overwhelming in the best way.”
On their wedding day, we rose in the early morning to a beautiful day. The getting ready house was bustling with energy and excitement. After a morning of anticipation, Doris headed to the venue for her first look with Daniel. The funniest thing happened when Daniel and Doris happened to be driving on the freeway at the same time riiight before the first look. OH NO! Hahaha, good thing that first look was salvaged and when I witnessed the intimate moment between the two of them & Daniel brought to tears, I was immediately hit with a wave of emotion too, tearing up behind the camera.
Their ceremony at Ardenwood Historic Farm was full of worship and celebration. They honored their parents and their officiant gave a message of what marriage means, describing the sacredness of a union before the Lord. When they were pronounced husband and wife they did a dip kiss and they sure pulled it off well!!
I absolutely loved the aesthetics of the reception and the atmosphere of love that surrounded the couple. Post-reception we snuck off to do a portraits session and got to pet the farm animals! I totally did not stage those photos, just pure joy that Daniel & Doris had petting the animals. I've included a few more of the cute lambies at the very end.
When I asked Doris to describe Daniel she said “Daniel is my favorite. He is an optimist, loves people, and is not afraid of what people think of him. I very much admire that about him. Daniel laughs for a lot of reasons- he’s definitely the easygoing one. He laughs at my weirdness, usually me overreacting and being dramatic on purpose. He laughs for a lot of reasons...What I love most about him is his willingness to change and grow into who God made him to be. That’s been the most exciting part of our journey together.”
When I asked Daniel to describe Doris he told me he thinks Doris is “very cute.” He said, “She is kind, beautiful, and loves Jesus. Doris laughs the most when I am acting weird. What I love the most about Doris is how much she cares about people.” I loved hearing them describe each other and being there to witness the reactions they had to seeing each other. So pure and full of love.
The whole entourage. I loved the soft blue palette and ethereal flower arrangements.

That excited grin and the best, best man reaction to the first kiss, anyone agree? :D
After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour. Then they made their ways to find their seats at tables for the reception admist the wooded trees and beneath the stringed lights. I absolutely loved the aesthetics of the reception and the atmosphere of love that surrounded the couple.
Daniel and Doris’ friend baked the cake and hand decorated it with fresh flowers!
After the guests slowly left, we got to explore the cutest farm which provided such a wonderful diversity for an intimate portrait session time. We even got to pet the farm animals! I totally did not stage those photos, just pure joy that Daniel & Doris had petting the animals. I've included a few more of the cute lambies at the very end.
We found this epic mountain view at the back of the farm and I definitely screamed a little inside. Such a nice time to kick back and enjoy the moments after Daniel and Doris became Mr. and Mrs!
To a silly, cute, and loving couple, would your joy shine ever so brightly! #anewpairofhsus
With love,
Anna
