I met Angela & Jae in person the first time during their engagement session. It was so fun learning about them through all the hilarious stories they shared about meeting each other and their relationship together prior to the session. Seeing them interact in person I could see these special little connections and quirks they have come alive. Their love is pure, playful, and open — an honor to witness and capture. We met at Arlington Garden in Pasadena, a secluded spot with a diverse ecosystem of plants, flowers, and architecture.

I asked them to describe the other person in their own words, and this is what they had to say:

Angela - “Jae is very easy going and fun. He is also reliable and gives that feeling of comfort and security.”

Jae - “I would describe Angela as a fun, loyal, transparent, talkative and energetic person. Angela’s favorite thing to say to me is that “you’re lame.” Despite what it seems, I know that she thinks I’m funny.”

Seeing Angela & Jae have so much fun with each other brought so many smiles to my face (albeit shielded by a mask). It’s clear they have a very supportive relationship and are very in tune with each other (even wearing matching shoes to the session).

At one point in the session, Jae asked if he could carry Angela. Then we proceeded to do it again, and again..and again ;) It seems to be their “thing” because we did it at the wedding too! Jae got the best workout (sorry Jae) and Angela had the most incredible time being swung around (ahah you’re welcome Angela!! )

Then, I had them sit down, so we took a little bit of a break and they started to count the number of ants on the ground. HAHA I had the best laugh when I heard that after I asked them what they were looking at.

As the sun started setting, the light peaked over with a golden glow just over Angela & Jae’s shoulders. It was so peaceful, just walking back and forth through the groves of trees. We ended the session with some more swinging - I froze one in black and white for those nostalgic feels.
