Vietnamese Wedding Tea Ceremony in Cerritos | Jasmine & Kevin

I first met Jasmine & Kevin when I photographed their surprise proposal and engagement party. It was so fun photographing their Vietnamese tea ceremony as a pre-wedding festivity.

Jasmine and Kevin both wore a traditional, beautifully ornate áo dài. Kevin was in a cream tunic and Jasmine in a traditional red dress with white gold embroidery.

We started the Vietnamese tea ceremony at Kevin’s family home before making way to Jasmine’s family home. Having grown up in the same city, it felt like an intimate neighborhood celebration with family and childhood friends.

Jasmine and Kevin poured tea for both sides of the family which is a symbol of respect, gratitude, and the harmonious union of two families.

The bridal party chowing down on Vietnamese fried meat bun, Bánh Patê Sô!

After the tea ceremony and blessings, we outside to take some photos. Jasmine’s dress train was so stunning!

Back inside to finish up before heading to the next spot.

On to the next!

The boys lined up with all the vibrant gift baskets at the bride’s house to kick off the next part of the tea ceremony.

Has anyone seen a cleaner squad?

The bride’s brothers!

Once everyone arrived, the guys and girls formed two lines facing each other to exchange the gift baskets full of blessings.

Friends and family all together!

After the gift basket exchange and group photos, we headed inside to finish the tea ceremony - serving tea and red envelopes, even the baby gave a red envelope! <3

Guys photo with all the high school buddies and OG squad! The tea ceremony was such a special ceremony filled with laughter, tradition, and celebration. Congrats to the beautiful couple!

With Love,
