UC Irvine Engagement Session - Alex & Nicole

Such a beautiful fall day on the peaceful, expansive campus of UCI. Alex and Nicole celebrated their engagement after over 5 years together. Though they came from different schools, they happened to meet at at their Christian fellowship event and remet at a conference months later! They decided to take photos at UCI because it holds special memories for them as the place they first DTRed (defined the relationship). ;)

We started the session by the infamous Moreton Bay fig, with its huge outstretched roots and foliage drawing attention as the central spot of Aldrich Park. The light was seeping in from behind the tree which was gorgeousss.

Then we ventured to the bench where they had “the talk”! What a special bench it would turn out to be…

It’s always fun to see the special places and memories couples share. It’s often the most unexpected spots that make for the fondest memories!

Throughout the process, I asked Nicole and Alex what they like to do for fun together. They shared that they like to do a mixture of fun things both at home and outside since “Nicole is a homebody while Alex is more of an adventurer.” From things like watching movies/tv shows, playing video games and board games, playing sports together, going to the beach, exploring new areas and foodie places, and Disneyland, they’ve shared many memories and experiences!

I asked them to describe the other person in their own words and these are the sweet words they had to say:

Alex: “Nicole is the most loving and sacrificial person I know. She constantly looks for ways to serve others and rarely takes credit for her actions. She’s beautiful, hard-working, and supportive of all my endeavors. She laughs at all my jokes and laughs at my mispronunciations. I know we’ll be laughing together a lot for the rest of our lives.” 

Nicole: “Alex is the most even-keeled and gentle-loving person I know. He is also extremely intelligent, ambitious, and gifted in almost everything he does (sports, games, card magic tricks, and the list can go on and on). I’d say I make Alex laugh the most!! heheh or Impractical Jokers… *insert thinking emoji”

UCI is such a beautiful campus! I loved the contrast of Nicole’s pink and yellow poppy colored dresses against the pops of green, teal, pink, etc.
